A one-day workshop, ‘Mastering OBE: OBE Strategies, Precise Exam Design, and QnSmart i Implementation for Quality Education’, was successfully conducted at the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS). Mr. Nibin Sunny, Sr Manager: Academic Solutions & Infrastructure Management,  Mr. Jaimon Kuriakose, Sr Manager, Training and Corporate Services, and Mr. Benny John Joseph, Manager- Business Administration, from ipsr solutions limited, experts in Outcome-Based Assessments and tools for quality enhancement in academics, led the session. The forenoon session focused on a comprehensive introduction to the QnSmart i software. Participants were guided through the systematic preparation of the syllabus and course outcomes aligned with OBE standards. Mr. Nibin, Mr. Jaimon and Mr. Benny emphasised the importance of structured course planning and demonstrated how QnSmart i can be effectively used to map and manage these elements. In the afternoon session, Mr. Nibin Sunny provided a detailed walkthrough on the process of adding questions into the software. He explained the criteria for aligning questions with course outcomes and assessment strategies, ensuring precise and outcome-oriented exam design.

 

The workshop offered valuable insights into integrating technology with OBE practices and was well-received by the faculty and academic staff of KUFOS. It marked a significant step towards enhancing academic quality and aligning institutional practices with modern educational standards.
